2021: A Year of Firsts

2021 was a big year for me. A lot of things happened - personally and professionally. I experienced a lot of “firsts” in 2021 that I want to share today.

Some of these firsts might be repetitive from some of my other blog posts, but nonetheless they are still important to me! These are listed in no particular order and some might seem random but they are still "firsts" that I experienced in 2021!

1) First car

I bought my first car in 2021! This was exciting because this car is truly my own. In high school and college, I shared a car with my brother.

2) First time to Hawaii

I have an entire Hawaii blog post, but going to Hawaii was truly one of my highlights of 2021. It was definitely a well deserved post-grad trip and Hawaii has been a place that I have always wanted to visit.

3) First time visiting North Carolina

I call this mini trip a hometown date because I was able to visit one of my best friends, Christy, in her hometown. I have an entire blog post where I share some of my highlights from this trip.

4) First full-time job

In 2021, I started my first full-time job. I remember walking into the office all dressed up and getting my parking pass and work ID and feeling so official.

5) First time seeing Chelsea Cutler

I LOVE Chelsea Cutler and I was excited to finally see her in concert in September at the TCU Amphitheatre. I tried seeing her in concert in Ann Arbor 3 years ago but tickets were sold out!

6) First time moving out

I really enjoy the independence of living alone. I’ve found that I do enjoy spending time by myself and doing things for myself.

7) First spin class

I have never been interested in taking a spin or cycling class before. But I had the opportunity to take a spin class at CycleBar. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I was.

8) First large friend group

In high school and college, I never really had a go-to friend group. Rather, I had pockets of friends and smaller sets of friend groups. But since moving to Indy, I have found a large group of friends that I consistently see and hang out with.

9) First Pacers game

I went to my first Pacers game in 2021 and it was really fun! I went with 8 other friends.

10) First year of being Yelp Elite

I am happy to announce that my Yelp Elite badge has been renewed for 2022. Being a Yelp Elite member has been one of my highlights for 2021 because it allowed me to discover local businesses in my community.

I am looking forward to 2022 and all the new things that I will experience this year!
